My Avon Story so far:
Hi, my name is Marian and this my AVON story. Around 20 years ago my husband and I moved out of London together and I moved into a career change.
Everybody knows that such a move costs a lot of money and stress. So after we settled down, I decided to look for something that allowed me to work from home. I had previously worked with Betterware, however, my enjoyment had changed after they had altered their leadership. Luckily, one day an Avon Representative dropped her book through my letterbox. Liking the brochure I quickly ordered an eye cream. Excited to receive it, it was disappointing to me that it was not suitable.
Previously I’d thought that perhaps I could try working with Avon and when I returned the cream I asked the friendly Representative, who had just started on my road, how to join. I signed to become an AVON representative not long after the Area Manager visited me. Given a few roads to share my brochures on, including the street I live on, I felt excited about the prospect. At first, the sales were slow but gradually my prospective customers grew to trust me and see that I was reliable.
Joined President Club:
I became a President Club member after my first year. Since then, I have been reaching President Club level every year. Receiving many gifts from Avon continue to help me feel appreciated.
Fourteen years later I continue to be a successful AVON representative. I enjoy working from home and meeting new people. Building a solid customer base and I am happy to say I can count my customers as my friends.
Fun Fact: Around the time when I first started in 2004/2005 Avon “…sold more skincare items, lipsticks, bottles of fragrance, eye make-up and nail enamels than any other manufacturer in the UK.”
- Around the time I joined Hollywood actress Salma Hayek was working with AVON and their new fragrance range.
- The ‘ANEW Alternative’ launch saw a range of products.
Becoming a Sales Leader:
With the possibility to increase my earnings and extending my story, the opportunity to become a Sales Leader was given to me about eight years ago. After much thought, I signed and became a Sales Leader. To start with it was not as easy as I had hoped and I also had a lot of doubt about myself. But I decided to carry on and my determination has paid off. I have built a team for myself and I like to help them and chat with them. I like what I am doing and I love working for a company that supports a number of charities as well as supporting women in business.
